Importance of Mentorship in a Student’s Life

 

     A student faces a phase in life when he is unable to take decision about his career. A student doesn’t know his interests, where he chooses the wrong career for himself and have to repent throughout the life. He is in a state of confusion while choosing his right career, this is why because there is a lack of mentorship in his life, which can help him or show the right way towards the success.

     A mentor helps student to have a system of support in his personal and professional life. A mentor is an experienced and a trusted advisor. A student needs mentoring to get a path in life according to their interests. As there are many examples of mentorship in 'Mahabharat' and 'Ramayan'. The great warrior 'Arjun' was guided by the Lord Krishna at the battleground. That mentoring speech by Lord Krishna was known as "Gita Sar' means the brief description of Bhagwad Gita. That speech played a major role in Mahabharat, that encouraged Arjun, and he fought the war bravely with a clear mind.

    Mentorship in a student's life can develop the new skills and can improve them. Quality mentoring greatly enhances student’s chances of success. Mentoring only doesn’t improve the academics of a student but also makes him to become practical in life to make a student self-dependent and confident. Mentoring prepares a student to face challenges and makes him strong psychologically. Life becomes disciplined under the guidance of a mentor. 

     To solve the problems of a student ,the educational institutes should organize “Mentorship Programmes”. By organizing the “Mentorship Programmes”, the students will get opportunity for selecting their careers according their preferences.
